Olympic-sized Emotions

It's Monday! Let's get Inspired!

Do you have an Olympic emotion plan? Learn how in today’s podcast!

Watching our  Olympians win gold (or not) has been inspiring and thought-provoking.  The emotional roller coaster and dedication to excellence we’ve witnessed have energized me and spurred me to consider excellence and resilience in my own life.

Let’s consider an Olympic mindset in The Creator-based® Way.

Olympians set clear, specific, and challenging goalsone might even call them I.N.S.P.I.R.E.D. (Not sure what that means? Come to our I.N.S.P.I.R.E.D. Goals class in January 2025 and learn how you can experience the magic.) When broken down into small, manageable steps, those goals are then attainable.

Olympians develop the ability to concentrate intensely on creating their perfect outcome.  They use techniques like visualization to rehearse their actions and stay mentally present. Meditation, breathing exercises, and relaxation strategies manage anxiety. Jennifer DeReus, our cognitive and brain specialist, is also a hypnotherapist and an amazing guide in this area.  She guides us with inner imagery in our Masterminds and other classes.

Overcoming setbacks and adapting to changing conditions is crucial to life creation – especially on the Olympic level! Olympians view failures as opportunities for growth.  Out’s not a failure.  It’s a new thing to learn!

Unwavering dedication, coupled with a strong sense of responsibility toward their sport, grows Olympic talent. I have seen this same talent multiplied with Moms, Dads, and Grandmas—and the incredible love and dedication they bring to supporting growing strong families. You may not get a gold medal, but you certainly earn one!

Have you ever noticed the mental toughness created by truly, deeply committing to a goal? By really knowing your why? Knowing your why can help you develop Olympic strength in managing pressure, coping with stress, and staying calm in high-stakes situations.

In The Creator-based® Way, we often ask, “What’s your focus?” Olympians focus on what they can control and what they choose to create in life.

We can all learn from these exceptional athletes. They surround themselves with supportive coaches, teammates, and family, who bring encouragement, feedback, and emotional stability.

Many Olympians develop pre-performance routines or rituals that help them get into the right mental state before a competition.  It’s like habit stacks and evening routines for winding down and closing out the day.  Our brains recognize the pattern and settle into the expectation of success.

A Growth Mindset and  commitment to constant improvement drive them (and us) to hone skills and performance continually, always looking for ways to do better.  In this way, we push past limits and break barriers- becoming better than we ever thought we could be!

Did you know?

We are forming guided mastermind groups for the winter quarter.  The people who join will be matched into groups that are similar in 3 ways.  Your group members will have a similar challenge to you, a similar goal and similar circumstances.  Sessions are held with two coaches twice a month, at a time that is convenient for your group.

Our goal in Creator-based® Coaching is to train and give you the tools, while you build relationships within your mastermind that help you as a group to outgrow your coach. You can continue as a group of friends helping and supporting one another.

Creator-based® Carry On!

Sometimes I get tired.  Let’s face it; I am often tired.   It’s a condition of being human. The question is, what will I do with that feeling of tiredness in my body? I could lay down and rest. (Not likely- since I really want to get things done.) I could eat...

Creator-based® Complaints

Have you or someone you love ever had an earache? They plagued me as a child. It was the worst pain I could remember at that young age. Long, frozen Michigan winters, plenty of time out in the wind and snow, and simply building an immune system as a child kept me in...

The Creator-based® Climb

The Creator-based® Climb I am afraid of heights, so I have never personally climbed a mountain. When we have driven over them, I have been very grateful to get back down to the rolling hills and prairies of my home sweet home. I didn't do the tall slides on the...

Creator-based® Context

Creator-based® Calamity

Oh my gosh! I made a mistake and it’s a calamity!  Did you see last week’s post? The word ‘because’ was where the word ‘becoming’ should have been! Eeeeeeeek!  It made no sense and looked so bad! The things I send out should be perfect right? Wrong.  I’m not...

Creator-based® Concerns

Sometimes Creators create concerns.  (Try saying that 5 times fast!).  As natural creators, we can create both good and not so good for ourselves.  It’s now well into the new year, and things have settled back into regular life. Thoughts are shifting to doldrums and...

Your Creator-based® Course

Creator-based® Character

Don’t you love that image of the cow?   When we first moved to the country, we bought a milk cow from a local dairy. We named her Elsie- after the Borden Milk cow. Elsie had been retired from the dairy because her milk production was 'down', and she came to enjoy...
