Creator-based® Concerns
As natural creators, we can create both good and not so good for ourselves. It’s now well into the new year, and things have settled back into regular life. Thoughts are shifting to doldrums and spring break dreams. Within that stagnant energy, it’s easy to begin to fill the space with a concern.
What I am concerned or worried about is often not grounded in anything solid. It’s simply a creation based on thoughts, input from the world, or things I have heard or seen from others.
Sometimes we choose to feel concerned because it’s better than being empty inside. Kind of like when you pick up your phone simply because there’s nothing else to do. We can create a concern because if we’re worried about something, at least we’re not sad or scared or angry about something else. There are many reasons we choose concerns.
What if every time you found yourself sorting life in your head, you stopped and noticed, “What is the brightest spot of light around you? What is it touching?
First of all, you’d need to think of something besides a concern
You’d have to lift your eyes and look up, seeking light.
You would find and focus on something bright and lovely.
You might find your heart feeling lighter and more grateful at that moment.
Try it. What is the brightest spot of light around you? What is it touching?
Another practice I have used to alleviate concerns is to watch my thoughts and when I notice a worry, recite these 5 phrases that are based on Reiki principles:
• Just for today I will not worry.
• Just for today I will not be angry.
• Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
• Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
• Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.
When I first started this practice, I thought I would only use it a couple of times a day, but I was quickly surprised how often I recognized a concern or a worry and recited the phrases in response.
By consistently noting my thoughts and choosing to practice the positive phrases, I recognized more light and peace and fewer worries. The phrase “just for today” was especially helpful. I mean, who can’t do something just for today?
Could you, just for today, choose to create peace instead of concern? What would you do with all the energy you normally spend worrying if you did that?
You could maybe write a blog!
Do it long enough and you could make a book.
You could get there and accomplish a dream you’ve had for a long time.
All of that worrying energy can be converted to creation.
Doesn’t that sound like a great life?
A Creator-based® Life is an entirely new approach to being creatively alive, healthy, and happy. Try it. You’ll be glad you did.
All my love,
Beth
